We Survived! Part 2

More clean up pictures
My amazing brother, Kevin, came down on his day off to help us clean up our trees in the front yard. Thanks Kev!
Kristi may be small but don't let that fool you when she has her mind set on a huge task.

WE'RE SURVIVORS OF THE OCTOBER STORM!
WHO KNOWS WHAT'S YET TO COME FOR WESTERN NY

We Survived!

I'm not sure if you heard what happened in Buffalo this past weekend, but we sure got our first taste of winter. Thursday, October 12 Buffalo was hit with 3 feet of snow. And this was not your average snow fall. The snow was so heavy and came down so fast that it took down half of our tree population, which in effect took out all of Buffalo's power lines. All the snow melted within 24 hours which caused major flooding. I think all of the water ended up in our basement. It was a big mess. We ended up going without power for a week. Work and school were canceled for many days. And there was even a driving band in effect for the weekend. Needless to say almost two weeks later we're back and running our normal lives again, except for the fact that we have a few less trees in our yard and all our candles are burnt to nothing. It was sure an exciting week.

That silver blob there is my car

Here's our house. And if you look to the left...under those trees that are leaning down, my dad's car and van are under there.

So much for that BBQ we were planning!

Buddy sure was excited to see the early arrival of snow!

Kristi spent day 2 of our adventure bailing water out of the basement.

Bless her heart!

Here's To You, Charity!

I'm back from an amazing Summer down in the amazing state of Oklahoma. I've been home for a few weeks and Charity informed me in her oh so loving way that I needed to update my blog. So here's to Charity. I love you!

As mentioned, I worked this summer down in Oklahoma at a Salvation Army Music Camp. It was five weeks with the same kids. At times it was very challenging because most of the kids were from inner cites but over the five weeks I saw these children grow in amazing ways. They became my Oklahoma family. Here's some pics for you to enjoy!

Me and two of my campers, Allyson and Elizabeth.

Me and the hottest girls on camp, Kim, Charlene, and Sarah

This is the 15 passenger van I drove to Dallas and while I was in Dallas I got separated from the group and got lost downtown in the getto. Lets just say it was an experience I'll never forget.

My cousin, Colin and Deana were apart of our amazing staff this summer. We had great times sharing the load of being counselors and lifeguards together.

Jimmy and Michael were two of the percussion music instructors. We have great memories of our trip to Dallas at the water park and our long talks about "Love, Heart and Mind."

~Here's to another great summer in Oklahoma. I love you all!~
